Carbon: Backup your Android device in every aspect

A lot of people can’t live without custom ROMs and custom tweaks that often force you to make a backup of your Android device before you start installation and this is why backup apps and backup methods are well-known for, however Android forums are flooded with a lot of backup apps even Google Play Store and it’s very hard task to choose a best app, but here’s Carbon app for your Android device developed by Koush (famous developer of ClockworkMod custom recovery).

It’s a missing sync and backup handy tool for Android, no it doesn’t need rooted device, anyone can try the app even the app lets you to make the backup of almost everything you want, this app lets you to backup your Android apps and data to your SD card and cloud storage even you can sync data from any other Android device not whether that is on same network or not. Once you’re done, you’ll not lose the data again. You can backup data, apps, SMS, etc.

The interface of app is pretty simple, if you’re rooted user, download and install the app and you’re done, however if you don’t have root access on the phone at this time, you need to install both – Android app and desktop client, if you’re Windows user, your device drivers must be installed on the PC. Plug the device to PC using a USB cable, you may need to set USB Connection Mode to “PTP” might b on Nexus device, once you’ve connected the device to PC it would automatically enable the Carbon app.

The developer Koush is offering both versions of app – free and paid, the free Carbon version lets you to backup and restore to SD card/PC, of course it contains ads. However if you choose the paid one, worry not as that doesn’t contain ads, it would automatically make backup schedules, it even feature Android to Android sync option that I explained above, you can backup your apps and data to Cloud storages too, the app support Dropbox, Box and Google Drive at this time.

Since Motorola devices have bug that break Android’s backup mechanism, the developer doesn’t recommend you the app to try on any Motorola device, however I’d like to say that you may give a try to free version.

However it’s very important to note that your Android smartphone and tablet must be on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or above, head over to the below link to download the app for your Android device and if you’re going to use computer to sync the device, also download the computer client from here.
