The Samsung Galaxy S5 does almost everything that a good flagship device should do. But one thing that decreasing the status of phone is lack of Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Samsung Galaxy Express GT-I8730 gets Android 5.0 update via CM12

Samsung Galaxy Express GT-I8730 gets Android 5.0 update via CM12

The Samsung Galaxy Express does offer you some nice features for people looking for a cheap phone. It features a good 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display and a fast process to perform some quick task. It can run Jelly Bean officially but it should get updates. I do not think Samsung will pay attention to this phone for latest Android’s version. But XDA is doing so. There is Samsung Galaxy Express Android 5.0 update available unofficially on XDA as CyanogenMod 12.

This unofficial CM12 build is still in development stages but so many good features are working fine. You can experience bugs when you are paying anything using NFC or when you need the Camcorder (but, try other app, it might work). I do not recommend this custom firmware for a daily drive as it may not prove very stable. But if you just want to experience what Google has introduced on Lollipop 5.0 version, load this build and take a drive of delicious Android’s version.

Install CM12 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275

Install CM12 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop for Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275

Android community has a habit of adding new features and interface unofficially. This is why third party developers do work on custom firmware. Recently, an unofficial CyanogenMod 12 build based on Android 5.0 Lollipop appeared for the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3. This is a chance to experience the latest trends of Android. Since this is a custom ROM, you can experience many bugs with it. But it is quite functional and many features are working fine. You can experience errors with NFC, Stock Camcorder crashes (use google camera for now), and Home button does not wake up the device. There are may be some other bugs, but it is worthy to give this CM12 ROM a try, at least when you are not willing to wait for an official Lollipop update. Will Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275 receive the Lollipop update? It is still not confirmed, as far we know.
