AT&T blocks video chat on Google Hangouts

All AT&T Mobility customers can use any video chat app over cellular that is not pre-loaded on their device, but which they download from the Internet. For video chat apps that come pre-loaded on devices, we offer all OS and device makers the ability for those apps to work over cellular for our customers who are on Mobile Share.

Google confirms SMS integration for Hangouts app

Recently Google launched their unified messenger as “Hangout”, even the Google Hangout has been pushed out to Google Play Store, iTunes and the web to download. When you launch the app for the first time, you may wonder when the Hangout will ask for phone number confirmation but worry not as might be Hangout confirms phone number for SMS integration that is not supported yet. A Googler Dori Storbeck (community manager for Google+ Hangouts and Chat) has just confirmed via Google+ that the Google hangout service will support SMS integration in future.

Storbeck explained that SMS integration for Google Hangout service coming soon as it’s a most request feature for app, however he didn’t mention any release date about the SMS integration of Google hangout app even he is not providing information regarding implications about the pre-installed SMS app.
