2013 in CES – new releases roundup
CES (consumer electronics show) has been a best show for tech for some years and another CES is now done, the whole event has been passed and it’s a time to take a look at back on the event to know what we got new. No doubt there are a lot of new releases but if you ask from me about the event, this year season wasn’t too good but we can’t ignore it because CES is one of most important event in the world of technologies, don’t get me wrong, I’m saying that because I was hard at work looking new Android-powered devices on the show but I could find just a few them, there was no smartphone with Samsung, LG and Motorola logo, however all of new released Android-devices are impressive and worthy to try.
So let’s save all CES 2013 season memories in one post, I’ve gathered new released Android-powered Android device in different categories – smartphones, tablets and other…..
Smartphones released at CES 2013
Huawei has launched the Ascend D2 that is 5-inch Jelly Bean Android smartphone, it’s waterproof and offers very powerful specs and features, it’s really worthy to try. It’s most powerful smartphone currently in the world.
This is another Huawei device that was launched on CES, it’s 6.1-inch phablet, specs are similar to Ascend D2.
Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra is a slimmest smartphone around the world that you can come up with, it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and offers high-end specs.
Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD and Scribe X
These other two high-end Alcatel smartphones with Jelly Bean OS, the Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD even support dual-SIMs.
Sony has announced their 2013 flagship smartphone – Xperai Z. it’s waterproof and runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, Sony said that they’ll update the phone to Android 4.2 soon. It’s 5-inch smartphone for a larger experience.
This is little brother of original Xperia ZL, specs and features similar but it’s not waterproof.
Samsung has added another bird to their Galaxy S series – Galaxy S2 Plus, it rocks with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and some other apps to improve the productivity.
Lenovo has announced five new Android devices but none of them will come to EU or USA, however all of them are packed with powerful specs.
Vizio has also announced two new HD smartphones with Jelly Bean, one of them is 5-inch and second one is with 4.7-inch. But both are just for China.
ZTE has unveiled the Grand S that is very slime 5-inch smartphone with Jelly Bean. The Phone is packed with high-end specs such as 2GB of RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with 1.7GHz quad-core CPU and 1,780 mAh battery.
Tablets released at CES 2013
Ace has announced Acer Iconia B1 tablet that offers 7-inch display and it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it’s budget Android tablet, specs are similar to Nexus 7.
Vidio has leaked a 10-inch Android tablet that includes tegra 4 chip, it’s first Android tablet in the world that is powered by Tegra 4.
These are 7-inch tablets with a few powerful specs and available with a low price tag. However HD version runs Jelly Bean while plain Evo 7 runs Ice Cream Sandwich.
Samsung has launched the Verizon Galaxy Note 10.1 variant even with 4G LTE support.
ViewSonic VSD240 is Android tablet with 24-inch display, it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Polaroid has announced 7inch Jelly Bean Polaroid M7 tablet with a low price tag, it’s packed with impressive specs while it includes Windows 8 like UI.
It’s another 10-inch tablet released by Polaroid that also offers high-end specs, and Jelly bean with a low price tag just $229.
Archos has arranged a new tablet series with the name of Titanium, it includes four different size tablets with a low price tag but offers impressive specs.
This is another tablet launched by Alcatel that runs Jelly Bean and available for just $179. It’s great to use an Android tablet with HD screen just for $179.
Ematic FunTab has launched four new tablets that are suitable for kids ranging from $150 down to as little as $60. All of them are really worthy to try.
Something other released at CES 2013
NVIDIA has launched finally the Tegra 4 Chip on the this CES that support worldwide 4G LTE support and NIVIDA claimes that it’s fastest mobile chip, it has GeForce GPU, Quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 CPU with 2nd Generation Battery Saver Core, and more.
NVIDIA has also shown their new Project Shield gaming system on this CES, that is powered by Tegra 4 and you can play both games on the device – Windows and Android.
Dacor is California-based home device manufacturer that has launched an Android-powered 30-inch wall oven, it includes 7-inch display, you can access Google Play apps on the oven.
Qualcomm has announced their new Snapdragon 800 and 600 chips that include Adreno 320 GPU, LPDDR3 RAM (Low Power Double Data Rate 3), and Overall Performance Boost.
LG has shown a new “panorama note” features that you can use with LG’s note apps of 4:3 screen to combine it with some of the fundamentals of a panoramic photo. It’s great to take notes and for free hand drawing.

Samsung has launched a new kind of flexible display Youm for smartphones that seems prototype while there’s Green LCD too that saves energy.
Sprint has announced two new apps – FM radio and Entertain Me, upcoming Sprint devices with come with both apps, we know already about FM radio while Entertain Me is helpful to get a better entrainment experience, you can use it to access Sprint TV and movies, music, Spotify, Slacker, iHeartRadio, Shazam and Rumpus.
