Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean AOKP on AT&T Galaxy Note [How-To]

The Jelly Bean Android 4.1.1 based AOKP has been arrived for the AT&T Galaxy Note I717. Now it’s pretty easy for AT&T Galaxy Note to taste Jelly Bean that is packed with useful features  such as Google Now, better keyboard, better notification bar and more. The AOKP features Nexus 7 bootanimation, appwidgetpicker2 app, file manager app and more.

It’s preview build of AOK, which means it’s not stable for the daily drive, it also may has bugs. So try it just to taste Android Jelly Bean.

Read on how to install Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean AOKP on AT&T Galaxy Note. Keep in mind that this is just for AT&T Galaxy Note model number SGH-i717, so don’t try it any other model or device, you can check the device detail from Setting>About Phone. Your device must be on UCLD3 firmware, follow this guide to install the firmware and ClockworkMod recovery also should be installed on your device follow this guide to install recovery. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM, Google Apps and kernel from here [XDA LINK].

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded .zip files to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up and power buttons.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #8: Repeat last step but now install kernel .zip file.

Step #9: Once again repeat step 7 to install Google Apps .zip file.

Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
