With Android Jelly Bean source release, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean based AOKP custom ROM is now available, it includes bunch of customizable features, it give a stunning look and feel to your Android devices, and now has been ported to AT&T Galaxy S3, thanks to recognized XDA developer member task650.

It’s first release of Jelly Bean AOKP ROM, so you can expect some bugs, like capacitive Lights don’t work until the brightness is toggled. Many things aren’t working, it’s just a preview build, you can use this build just to taste Jelly Bean, however developer will fix bugs soon.

Read on how to install Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean AOKP on AT&T Galaxy S3, make sure that ClockworkMod recovery is installed on device, be sure to follow our this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery 6.0. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here [XDA LINK] and Google Apps from here.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down by holding down volume down, home and power buttons until the screen turn on.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. Then also select advance>delvik catch.  

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #8: Repeat last step and install Google Apps Package .zip file in the same manner.

Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
