Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Tablet Edition for Kindle Fire [How-To]
Just a few days ago, an Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean based custom ROM released for the Amazon Kindle Fire that had no tablet UI but don’t be worried about Tablet user interface, another Android 4.1 Jelly Bean based custom ROM has been released with tablet UI for the Kindle Fire that provides you complete stock Android Jelly Bean experience.
The ROM is still in development stage, which means you might face some bugs, however mostly things are working fine, the ROM is already includes superuser.apk and su binary and busybox app. it features volume slider on the status bar panel, you can use Wi-Fi without manually running fix-mac.sh, the ROM is packed with useful features and worthy to try.
Read on how to Install tablet UI-Based Jelly Bean on the Kindle Fire but first do keep in mind that custom recovery should be installed on your Kindle file, follow our this guide to install and make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions
Step #1: To update Kindle Fire to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Custom ROM first Download the latest version of ROM from here [XDA LINK] and Google Apps from here and save both .zip files to the SD card of device.
Step #2: Power off tablet and reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down power button, when triangle appear, press the power button again and it will take you to recovery mode.
Step #4: Make nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup” again.
Step #5: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset.
Step #6: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete, after that also install Google Apps .zip file in the same manner.
Step #7: Once the installation is completed, select “Reboot System Now.”
