Good news for the owners of HTC Sensation, now they can enjoy touch enabled recovery on their HTC Sensation, ClockworkMod Touch Recovery has released for their device, say thanks to koush, the developer of ClockworkMod Recovery, for this great effort, and here’s a guide to install this CWM Touch Recovery on your HTC Sensation.
If you’re interested follow below guide to install it, but keep in mind that your device must be rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed its battery should be charged. Please make a backup of your device data because the below procedure will wipe all data, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development. Then, make sure that USB debugging is checked. It’s just for HTC Sensation, so please don’t it any other device, ADB and Fastboot along with HTC Sensation drivers should be installed.
DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.
Step #1: Download the ClockworkMod Touch Recovery (version 220.127.116.11) image to PC and rename it to “recovery.img” (without the quotes). And copy it to the folder where fastboot.exe is located on your PC. (This is most likely in C:android-sdk-windowstools.)
Step #2: Now turn the device off, once it completely powered off, reboot into Fastboot mode by holding down the Volume Down button and pressing the Power button.
Step #3: On the hboot screen that appears, select the “fastboot” option. (Use the Volume keys to scroll; press the Power button to select.)
Step #4: Connect the device to PC using USB cable and on your PC, go to the folder where fastboot.exe is located.
Step #5: Once you’ve located the folder where fastboot.exe is, hold the Shift key down on your PC’s keyboard, right-click inside the folder, and select “Open Command Window Here” from the popup menu. It should launch a command prompt or DOS prompt.
Step #6: On command prompt, enter the following command and press the Enter key:
- fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Step #7: Now select the “bootloader” option from the main hboot menu.
Step #8: Scroll down and select the “recovery” option to enter ClockworkMod Touch Recovery. (At this point, you may want to try using the touchscreen to navigate around the recovery menus.)
