CyanogenMod 10 Up for HTC myTouch 4G, Jelly Bean Based ROM

HTC myTouch 4G has received the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean build via CyanogenMod 10, it’s AOSP (Android Open Source Project) ROM, so it will give you fully stock Android experience. The ROM brings a smooth and faster performance on your phone, thanks to XDA developer member cnote74.

The ROM is still in beta stage, the camera isn’t working yet, the mic is low flash low mic, you can fix it from here. The ROM isn’t stable for daily drive.

Read on how to install CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ROM on your HTC myTouch 4G. The bootloader of your HTC smartphone must be unlocked, you can follow this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery, you can also use all-in-one toolkit to do all easily. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the CyanogenMod 10 from here or here and Google Apps from here.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded files to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so, firstly reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons, the developer will enter in bootloader mode, there select recovery option (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. Then from main menu, select Advanced and then select Wipe Dalvik Cacheand confirm the action on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #8: Once again, repeat the step 7 and install Google Apps .zip file.

Step #9: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
