Download and Install ClockworkMod Recovery for HTC One X+ – Guide


If you want to enter in the city of custom ROMs to enhance the performance and to get a few useful tweaks for your Android device, first you need to use a custom recovery as a ticket for the city and of course the ClockworkMod is one of most popular and of course best custom recovery for this purpose. The ClockworkMod recovery (CWM) for your shiny HTC One  X+ has been arrived, thanks to recognized XDA developer and contributor mike1986. Now you can easily install zip files containing custom ROMs, MODs, tweaks etc, perform backup and wipe on your HTC One X+.

This guide shows you how to install ClockworkMod recovery on HTC One X+ Plus. Make sure your phone bootloader is unlocked, you can follow this handy guide to unlock bootloader.

You need a Windows PC with USB drivers installed, you can use the HTC Sync software to install drivers on your PC.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the ClockworkMod Recovery (recovery_v.0.3.img) and Fastboot Package (fastboot.zip) from XDA to your PC.

Step #2: Unzip the fastboot.zip file into C:\, it will generate fastboot folder containing four files.

Step #3: Rename the downloaded recovery_v.0.3.img into recovery.img and copy the file to fastboot folder you extracted in previous step.

Step #4: Turn your HTC One X+ off and reboot into fastboot mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down by holding down volume down and power buttons, when device enter in bootloader mode, there select fastboot mode by using volume and power buttons to enter in fastboot mode.

Step #5: Once you’re in fastboot mode, plug your phone to PC using a USB cable.

Step #6: Fire up command prompt, you can find command prompt at Star menu>programs>accessories.

Step #7: Enter following commands on command prompt, the second will generate the serial number of your phone, if it generate, your phone is connect to PC properly, otherwise make sure USB drivers are properly installed on the PC:

cd c:\fastboot

fastboot devices

Step #8: Enter following command to install recovery.img:

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Step #9: Once the installation is done, enter following command to reboot phone:

fastboot reboot

Step #10: Unplug your phone from PC.

That’s it, you’re done, the ClockworkMod recovery is now installed on your HTC One X+, to try out the recovery, reboot phone into bootloader, and there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode. If you faced any problem, holler in comment section. Enjoy!
