Download XXLH1 OTA Update for Galaxy S3 I9300 with new Baseband, Fix Battery drain Bug

Almost every Galaxy S3 user is waiting for the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update that is expected to release in third or fourth quarter of 2012 but Samsung has just released another OTA update “XXLH1” for the Samsung Galaxy S3 that is still Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich not Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the update just comes with new baseband and currently available for the international Samsung Galaxy S3 model number of Gt-I9300. As most of you know well that the this flagship smartpone was affected by a battery drain issue and this new update will fix it.

On your Galaxy S3 I9300, simply, go to Setting>About Phone and there check for Software update, another way is that, launch the Samsung KIES and get the XXLH1 firmware update. The update may not be available in all countries currently, so what you should do if the update isn’t available on your phone? or you can’t receive the update through OTA or Samsung KIES? We are here to help you, an ClockworkMod flashable .zip update file is also available for you, thanks to senior XDA developer member vels707.

If you haven’t installed the CWM recovery, you can follow our this guide to install CWM recovery 6.0. Then download the XXLH1 firmware update CWM .zip file from here, put the phone into recovery mode and install the modem_CWM_I9300XXLH1.zip file, before you install the file, I recommend you to take the a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything goes wrong, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again. Do let us know your thoughts in below comments about this update.

dear, it has become a bit older version, it’s based on Android 4.0.4 and Samsung has rolled out Android 4.1 update too just a few days ago, you should check Android 4.1 update OTA notification now or update your phone with Samsung KIES. Another way is also available, install update manually using Odin, you can download OTA update according to your country and install it using this guide (this guide is for sweaden but can be installed on any Galaxy S3 manually): http://www.androidegis.com/how-to/upgrade-galaxy-s3-to-android-4-1-jelly-bean-xxdlih-firmware/

hopefully very soon as Samsung is now rolling out Android 4.1.2 update that suggest us that Samsung will cover all countries for Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean soon…
