Enjoy Tablet-Like UI On Galaxy S GT-I9000 With CyanTablet 9


Tablet’s user interface are better than smartphones, for those, who own a Samsung Galaxy S and want to enjoy tablet-like UI a new has released “CyanTablet 9” Android 4.0.4 ICS build IMM76D ROM based on CM9, thanks to XDA developer “saranhai”. The ROM features complete tablet interface, everything you use on a tablet.

But the ROM is still in development stage, which means it may has some bugs like developer mentioned that the ROM has CM9 bugs, but it’s stable, you can install it. First note that your device must be rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed its battery should be charged. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup to back apps.

Instructions

Install First Time

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here and Google Apps from here.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded files to root of phone’s SD card.

Step #3: Turn the device off and reboot into recovery mode by pressing and holding down Home +  Power + Volume Up keys until you the screen powers on.

Step #4: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #5: Perform full wipe, select wipe data/factory reset and confirm on next screen.

Step #6: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #7: Repeat last step to install Google Apps.  

Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.” That’s it, enjoy!

Upgrade from CM7

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here.
