Enjoy Tablet-Like UI on T-Mobile Galaxy S2 With ‘FoxstarMOD TabletUI Hybrid’
Tablet’s user interface are better than smartphones, but now owners of T-Mobile Galaxy S2 can also taste tablet user interface, thanks to XDA developer “starskyrob” a new custom ROM “FoxstarMOD TabletUI Hybrid” for your T-Mobile Galaxy S2 that features tablet-like Ice Cream Sandwich UI and based on CM9.
The ROM is still in beta and has some bugs like CPU Governor MUST BE CHANGED. Use SystemTUNER to change to preferred governor. CM settings force it stuck in performance mode. Use system tuner to change to something you’d prefer, unless you LOVE battery drain and cpu being pegged and SD Card mounting via USB but you can do in ClockworkMod recovery and it has some Graphical Overlay Issues. It has no Camera and on boot, you may get a popup asking for “SIM network unlock PIN”, but you just cancel it. You can’t use 2G networks.
However if you really want to try tablet-like UI, follow below guide to install this but first note that touch-based ClockworkMod recovery should be installed on your T-Mobile Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 and its battery should be charged. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup to back apps.
