Flash ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery on Nexus 7
Clockworkmod is one of most popular custom recovery for the Android devices, it has number of features like it allows you to install .zip files that contains custom ROMs, Mods, tweaks and more, you can also wipe your Android device and take a backup of your existing ROM, it also has many other useful features.
Here’s guide to install the ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery on Nexus 7, before you install CWM first make sure that the device bootloader is unlocked, you can follow this guide to unlock bootloader of Nexus 7, then make sure Android SDK is installed on the computer and and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.

Step #1: Download the ClockwodMod recovery to your PC.
Step #2: Copy the download recovery.img to the fastboot folder, it should be on android-sdk/platform-tools in C: on my computer.
Step #3: Open Command Prompt and go to the fastboot folder, if you’re using Windows 7, you can open command prompt directly from the folder, to do so open the folder, there hold down shift button on keyboard, then right click on any empty aria of folder, a menu will appear, select open command prompt.
Step #4: Enter following commad:
fastboot flash recovery CWM-grouper-recovery.img
Once the above installation is done, you need to reboot the device by entering the following command:
Step #5: You’ve flashed the ClockworkMod recovery, now you have to make it permanent, so entering following commands on the command prompt:
mv recovery-from-boot.p recovery-from-boot.bak
