Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 Gets Official ICS Update – Manual Installation
For those of you own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500 and waiting for official Ice Cream Sandwich update, here’s good news, official Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 XWLP5 firmware is now rolling out by Samsung.
Those of you can’t update the tablet via OTA official update or running a custom ROM and now want to update their tablet with official Ice Cream Sandwich update, can install the update manually on their tablet, here’s how to manually install Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, it’s just for Wi-Fi 3G variant model number P7500, so don’t try this update on any other variant.
Please use a Windows PC and USB drivers must be installed on the PC, you can download them from here or here. Disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the Ice Cream Sandwich XWLP5 firmware (P7500XWLP5_P7500ODDLP5_INU.zip) from here or here.
Step #2: Unzip the downloaded .zip on your PC, you’ll get P7500XWLP5_P7500ODDLP5_P7500XXLQ8_INU_ONLY_HOME.tar.md5 file.
Step #3: Download the required Odin 1.85.zip to your PC.
Step #4: Also unzip the Odin 1.85.zip file into a folder on PC.
Step #5: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin v1.85.exe.
Step #6: Turn the device off.
Step #7: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down volume down and power buttons, when a warning screen appear on the screen, then leave other buttons and press the volume up button, it will take you to download mode.
Step #8: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn the colors and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #9: Click on PDA Button and locate P7500XWLP5_P7500ODDLP5_P7500XXLQ8_INU_ONLY_HOME.tar.md5 from the folder where you’ve unzipped above files in the step 2. (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #10: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again.
Step #11: If your device reboot into normal mode, you’re done, enjoy! But if you device gets stuck at boot screen, you need to perform wipe, to do so, turn off device, then reboot into recovery mode by holding down volume down and power buttons, when screen turns on, leave power button but not volume down until you enter in recovery mode. In recovery mode, select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen. Once it done, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
That’s it, Ice Cream Sandwich is now installed on your Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500. If you faced any issue, do comment below and I’ll help you.

yup..since you just need to use .exe file of Odin to install firmware, you can use any Windows OS

No it’s no necessary, however if your tablet can’t boot up after installation, must perform wipe data/factory reset that can be done in recovery mode as I explained in last step.

this afternoon i wanted to update my galaxy tab 10.1 and i have downloaded all the required softwares but i wanted to test if my tablet could connect to my computer after running the driver that you recomended in the above link. I found that my tablet could not be be able to connect to my pc because i couldn’t see it under my computer

I updated my samsung galaxy tab1 10.1 P7500 bt when I went to check the Andriod system recovery I find only dis dere
Reboot syystem now
Apply update from external storage
Wipe date /Factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Apply update from cache
But I can’t access the files in my fone folder pls what will I do cos whenever I click on. Apply update from external storage he said unknown source am really confuse someone pls help me

I did dat already but is not still working,..I want 2 make it call so I need to download 2 Zip files inside it but I can’t do that Via Odin mode that’s why I wanna install d files from Recovery Mode. Is there a Way to install the files without going through Recovery Mode? Pls help

dear it seems that you’re trying to install something other that is not firmware zip file…you need ClockworkMod recovery to install other zip files, so install ClockworkMod first…..
