Total commander is Windows Explore-like tool that has many features that you can’t find in Explorer like side-by-side file browsing and some plug-ins. Now it also lets you to connect your Android device directly from the Total Commander and it also comes with some more features.

You can get access to the Android device without remounting your USB card, you have option to use many devices with the Total commander, you can’t only use a USB cable to connect the device but also connect wirelessly then you can easily organize your files, upload and download files. It’s pretty easy to use and fast.

If you want to use the Total commander with your Android device first make sure that you’re using a computer running Windows XP service pack 3 or above, Total Commander 7.5 or a higher version should be installed on the computer. You also need to install .NET Framework Client Profile or Full Profile, you can grab them here. Please note that TotalByClr.Server needs to be registered onto the system, you’ll have to use Windows Vista or above to do so. See below guide to install it.

Instructions

Step #1: Download Total AndDroid from here to PC.

Step #2: Open the downloaded zip file from the Total Commander, it will active the auto install plugin and register TotalByClr.Server.

Step #3: Now on your Android device turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development and plug it to PC or connect wirelessly with adb wireless enabled.

That’s it, you’re done, you can access the \\TotalAndDroid path from within Total Commander. If this method doesn’t work, install it manually, just continue reading to install manually.

Step #4: Unzip the downloaded zip file into the folder where it will install plugins such as C:\Program Files\TotalCmd\plugins\.

Step #5: Now add the plugin in Total Commander, to do it just go to configure> Options>Plugins>File system plugins (WFX)> Add.

Step #6: Now browse the TotalAndDroid.wfx file and add it, then head over to plugin folder and start TotalByClr.Server.exe /r in command prompt.

Step #7: Now on your Android device turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development and plug it to PC
