Get Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Based ParanoidAndroid ROM for HTC Desire


HTC Desire hasn’t stop receiving Jelly Bean builds, the ParanoidAndroid ROM is now available for the HTC Desire that based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, we love to use the Paranoid Android ROM due to its unique modes, the ParanoidAndroid ROM has all modes, phone mode, phablet mode (Galaxy Note mode) and tablet hybrid mode, that allow you gather phone, tablet and phablet features in one place, thanks to XDA developer member marius.a.

List of both ROM and OS (Jelly Bean) is remarkable, the Jelly Bean gives you a smooth performance on your Android device, it adds new search feature, Google Now app, advanced notification bar, advanced camera app, smarter keyboard and more.

The ParanoidAndroid ROM is still being updated and contains some bugs and issues. But if you want to taste Jelly Bean with different modes, it’s worthy to try ParanoidAndroid ROM on your HTC Desire.

The below guide will walk you through how you can flash the ParanoidAndroid ROM on your HTC Desire. Do keep in mind that the bootloader of your HTC Desire must be unlocked and ClockworkMod recovery also should be installed on the phone. It’s very important to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of ROM from here [XDA Link].

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded .zip file to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so, reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons, the device will enter HBOOT mode, there use volume keys to navigate and power button to select, you need to select Recovery option to enter in recovery mode.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
