Get Google Now on Any Rooted Android Device Running Ice Cream Sandwich


Recently Google released another version of Android mobile operating system the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it comes with many new features and developers already has been ported many Google Jelly Bean goodies to many Android devices like a developer ported Jelly Bean apps package to Ice Cream Sandwich devices but the Google Now isn’t included in the apps package.

Google Now enables you to search history, when you’ll search a thing on the device, this service will save the record and complete detail, then it’ll inform you when the required thing prompt, you can also get know about different directions, you can get updates about your favorite football team, you can use voice too, the service has number of other feature and now can installed on any rooted Android device running Ice Cream Sandwich, thanks to hardworking developers over XDA. See below guide to install Google Now.

Instructions

Method 1

Step #1: Plug your device to your computer using a USB cable.

Step #2: Now Open the Root Explorer.

Step #3: Browse to the /system folder, there open the build.prop in a text app like Text Editor.

Step #4: Now you need to ensure that ro.build.version.sdk.

Step #5: Click on save to save the required information.

Step #6: Browse to /system/app and there rename GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk file to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk1

Step #7: Reboot the device.

Step #8: Download and install this apk file on your phone.

Step #9: Once again, edit the build.prop using text app and now make sure ro.build.version.sdk = 15.

Step #10: Again reboot the phone. That’s it, you’re done.

Method 2

Step #1: Voice will not work in this version. Download and install Root Browser Lite on the phone.

Step #2: Launch the installed app, tap on Continue and confirm action.

Step #3: Tap two times on the green arrow that can be found at the top, it will take you to output folder, there go to /system/app.

Step #4: Rename the GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk file to GoogleQuickSearchBox.bak.

Step #5: Download Google Now and save it to the SD card of device.

Step #6: Enable unknown sources from Settings>Security, then locate the file and tap on it to start installation. That’s it, you’re done.

Method 3

Step #1: Voice will not work in this version. Download Google Now Zip [Link Removed] and save it on the SD card of device.

Step #2: Turn off the device and reboot into recovery mode.

Step #3: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #4: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.” That’s it.
