Get Ice Cream Sandwich On Galaxy Tab P1000 Via MIUI 4

Finally, now you are able to enjoy Ice Cream Sandwich on your Galaxy Tab P1000 via MIUI 4, thanks to sinamosavi “XDA developer’ for this great effort. This ROM based on CM9, it’s early build so you can expect some bugs like Wi-Fi and SD mounts are reportedly problematic. If you want to install this ROM just follow below steps, before you start please note that, your device should be rooted with CWM recover installed, battery should be 100% charged, and make a backup of your data and please, just install this ROM on Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 don’t try this procedure other device.

DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.

Instructions 

Step #1: Download the MIUI 4 Alpha ROM for the Galaxy Tab from here and save the file to your computer.

Step #2: Plug the device to PC using USB cable and and transfer MIUI 4 ROM to your device’s internal storage.

Step #3: Disconnect device from PC and turn it off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into ClockworkMod Recovery by holding down the Volume Up key and the Power button simultaneously.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of existing ROM, if anything should not work out something expected on this ROM, it will helps you to easily revert back to your current state, to create select “Backup and Restore”, and on the screen that follows select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform wipe:

  • Select “Wipe data/ factory reset” and confirm that you want to perform the action.
  • Select “Wipe Cache partition” and confirm that you want to perform the action.
  • Select “Advanced”, then “Wipe Dalvik cache” and confirm that you want to perform the action.

Step #7: Select “Install zip from SD card” then select “Choose zip from SD card” and choose the ROM file that you have copied to your tablet earlier and confirm the installation by choosing “Yes”.

Step #8: After installation reboot your device. that’s it, you have installed.

    in step 6 i cant find “Select “Advanced”, then “Wipe Dalvik cache” and confirm that you want to perform the action.” please help whats wrong

      dear it’s simple, just return to main menu and select Advanced after that select Wipe Dalvik and confirm on next screen……

        after Reboot the device into ClockworkMod Recovery, the display only have :
        Android system recovery (3e)
        Enter: ok key, select: vol up / vol down
        - reboot system now
        - apply sdcard: update.zip
        - wipe data/factory reset
        - wipe cache partition

        >>>>>>> just all!!!
        so, No choice for “advance”?
        can you explain it? why?
        how will I do?

          you’re booting your tablet into stock recovery not it CWM recovery because options you’re showing are available in just stock recovery, install CWM recovery first, then install this MIUI ROM….

    I was able to complete the install. (GT-P1000). Layout and everything is awesome. So easy to convert to from gingerbread. I’m just having network issues. (can’t connect to Wifi, Data Network)… hell I can’t even make phone calls as I cannot connect to my provider. If they is a fix please let me know. Gong back to GB 2.3.6 for now.

      but there should be nandroid option and advanced option too…might be this is because you’re may be used a bit older version of recovery…however don’t care about advanced because just factory reset and wipe data is enough before installations…it works without other for me….

      there are also should be a option “Install zip from SD card” along with “apply sdcard: update.zip”….that will be used to install the ROM zip file….

    Did every thing correct, everything goes smooth, But rebooting taking time. for last 15 min. its on 1st home screen after rebooting. Is it installing something on backend process. How much time it will take on reboot.
