Rooting is what you like Android for, rooting enables you to modify your Android device because it gives you superuser rights. If you own an own an MDPI Sony Xperia and have rooted device, here’s an interesting thing for you. A senior XDA developer member draco_ag has developed a mod for your device that provides you the reboot option in the Power Menu dialogue and a fast Panel in notification area with 15 working toggles.

This mod also comes number of other features such as awesome black keyboard to better suit the Ice Cream Sandwich, color scheme and 1% battery mod in status bar, a modified MDPI Call Screen that will lets you to get rid of corners and gives just panels, and fully functional MDPI QuickPanel with QuickSettings and Network toggle, see above screen shots.

So if you’ve a rooted MDPI Xperia Ice Cream Sandwich device with ClockworkMod recovery installed, follow the below guide to install this mod. But first I’ll recommend you to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc for safety, sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Version without battery MOD or Version with 1% battery MOD latest to PC.

Step #2: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything goes wrong, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #7: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
