The TWRP custom recovery has been arrived for the Samsung Galaxy S Advance, those of you who are unfamiliar to TWRP, it’s a custom recovery that allows you to easily install .zip files, wipe the device when you need and take the backup of device firmware, it’s touch-based custom recovery, so you no need to use any physical key to navigate and select menus in recovery mode. It also support themes and has file manager.
The below guide shows you how to install TWRP recovery on Galaxy S Advance, make sure that you’re using Windows PC and USB phone drivers are installed on your PC, you can use Samsung KIES to install drivers, but during installation, KIES must be disabled, before installation disable all system tools such as Samsung KIES, antivirus, firewall program.

Step #1: Download the TWRP Recovery to your PC from here [XDA Link]
Step #2: Unzip the downloaded GT-I9070-GB_TWRP-KERNEL-DiegoCH.rar file into a folder.
Step #3: Download the Odin3_v3.04.zip to your PC.
Step #4: Unzip the downloaded Odin3 v3.04.zip file into a folder too.
Step #5: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin.
Step #6: Turn the device off.
Step #7: Reboot the device into download mode
Step #8: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn color and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #9: Click on PDA Button and locate GT-I9070_GB_TWRP_KERNEL.tar.md5. from the folder where you’ve unzipped above files in the step 2. (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #10: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again.
Step #11: That’s it, you’re done, unplug device from PC.
