How To Install Android 4.2.2 update for Galaxy S3 [leaked I9300XXUFME3 firmware]
It seems that the Korean company always loves to offer their latest features for their older devices as it happens with GS3, Samsung Galaxy S3 users can now taste the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware, thanks to SamMobile. I9300XXUFME3 is a new test firmware for Galaxy S3, it’s based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean build JDQ93 and brings various new features, most of them are ported from latest shiny GS4 such as the lock screen, screen modes, S voice app, setting UI and more. It even includes daydream, driving mode, improved notification bar, white background for gallery modes, full screen SamApps, and smart switch widget.
The Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update will reportedly land in June but if you can’t wait, install the firmware manually using Odin3. It’s worthy to note that since this is leaked firmware, it might not be fully stable but it has been tested and works well. Do also note that it will increase binary counter, however the current binary and system status will be official.
This guide shows you how to install leaked Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean XXUFME3 firmware on Galaxy S3 I9300. Use a Windows PC and ensure USB phone drivers are installed. Make a backup of phone because below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use the carbon Android app to backup apps and data, though the APN setting automatically restored from network, it make mobile date work, but if it doesn’t happen to you, restore it manually, you can use APN app to do so.

Step #1: Download Galaxy S3 I9300XXUFME3 firmware from here.
Step #2: Unzip the downloaded zip file and run Odin3 3.04.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down volume down, home and power buttons.
Step #5: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #6: Click on PDA Button and locate I9300XXUFME3_I9300OJKFME1_HOME.tar.md5 from the folder where you’ve unzipped above files in the step 2. (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #7: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again).
Step #8: If your device reboot into normal mode, you’re done, enjoy! But if you device gets stuck at boot screen, you need to perform wipe, to do so, turn off device, then reboot into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons. In recovery mode, select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen. Once it done, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot phone.
