How To Install Android 4.2.2 Update For Nexus 10 Manually


The Nexus 10 received the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware update last week through OTA (over the air) with the firmware version JDQ39 but if you were not able to update your Nexus 10 with OTA due to any reason, simply download and install the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update on your Google Nexus 10 tablet manually.

This guide shows you how to update Nexus 10 to Android 4.2.2 firmware manually. Your Nexus 10 must be on stock firmware build number JPO04D or JPO04F, check your device detail from Setting>About Phone. Use Windows PC with Android ADB installed, you can check our this guide to install Android ADB drivers.

Instructions

Step #1: Download Android 4.2.2 OTA update for Nexus 10 depending on build number, if your build number is JPO04D, download update from here and if your build number is JPO04F, download it from here.

Step #2: Download Fastboot Package and unzip it into C drive, the zip file will generate fastboot folder having four files, then copy download update zip file to fastboot folder too.

Step #3: Turn your Nexus 10 off.

Step #4: Reboot your Nexus 10 into recovery mode, to do so reboot tablet by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons into bootloader mode, there use volume keys to navigate and power key to select, you need to select recovery option to enter in recovery mode. Android logo will appear, then press volume up button while holding down power button to open recovery mode.

Step #5: Once you’re in recovery mode, select apply update from adb option.

Step #6: Plug your Nexus 10 to PC using a USB cable.

Step #7: Open up command prompt and navigate to fastboot folder by entering following command:

cd C:\Fastboot

Step #8: Enter following command to make sure your device is plugged properly or not, if the command generate serial number of your tablet, your device is plugged to PC properly otherwise not:

adb devices

Step #9: Enter following command to start installation (type update file name you downloaded in first step):

adb sideload “filename”

Step #10: Once the installation is done, on your Nexus 10tablet select “reboot system now” to reboot the device.

That’s it, you’re done. The Android 4.2.2 update is now installed on your Nexus 10, if you experience any error, leave comment.
