How To Install Android 4.2.2 Update For Nexus 7 Manually
Google has rolled out the Android 4.2.2 firmware update for the Nexus 7 with the firmware version JDQ39 but if you still haven’t received the Android 4.2.2 OTA notification on your tablet or if you can’t update tablet with OTA, you should pull out the Android 4.2.2 OTA update manually and install it right on your Nexus 7.
This guide shows you how to update Nexus 7 to Android 4.2.2 firmware manually. Your Nexus 7 must be on stock firmware build number JPO04D, check your device detail from Setting>About Phone. Use Windows PC with Android ADB installed, you can check our this guide to install Android ADB drivers.

Step #1: Download Android 4.2.2 OTA update for Nexus 7 depending on your variant:
Step #2: Download Fastboot Package and unzip it into C drive, the zip file will generate fastboot folder having four files, then copy download update zip file to fastboot folder too.
Step #3: Turn your Nexus 7 off.
Step #4: Reboot your Nexus 7 into recovery mode, to do so reboot tablet by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons into bootloader mode, there use volume keys to navigate and power key to select, you need to select recovery option to enter in recovery mode. Android logo will appear, then press volume up button while holding down power button to open recovery mode.
Step #5: Once you’re in recovery mode, select apply update from adb option.
Step #6: Plug your Nexus 7 to PC using a USB cable.
Step #7: Open up command prompt and navigate to fastboot folder by entering following command:
Step #8: Enter following command to make sure your device is plugged properly or not, if the command generate serial number of your tablet, your device is plugged to PC properly otherwise not:
Step #9: Enter following command to start installation (type update file name you downloaded in first step):
adb sideload “filename”
Step #10: Once the installation is done, on your Nexus 7 select “reboot system now” to reboot the device.
