How To Install Anthem ROM for Nexus 7 (2013)


The latest Nexus 7 is a nice addition with improved features and hardware making your life a bit more richer with new experiences and threads even it is a stock Nexus device with less limitations for modifications to gain a lot more than stock with custom ROMs, tweaks, MODs and more.

The Anthem is a new Nexus 7 custom ROM stock rooted, init.d support with Advanced Power Menu. It should improve the usability with performance and handy tweaks to give you a new taste of life. There are sansation fonts to change the taste, it includes Apex and Nova Launcher as well as to Titanium Backup to protect backup your valuable data, the ES File Explorer is also pre-included.

The below guide shows you how to install Anthem ROM for Nexus 7 (2013), make sure you have unlocked bootloader with a custom recovery installed, you can unlock bootloader here install TWRP recovery here.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Anthem ROM for Nexus 7 from here or here (mirror) and copy the zip file to your Nexus 7.

Step #2: Turn the device off and reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up and power buttons until you see Google logo, do not leave volume up key until you enter in recovery mode.

Step #3: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again, if you’re on TWRP recovery, click on “backup” and slide the blue button to confirm the action.

Step #4: In recovery mode, perform wipe, select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. At the end, select advanced, then select “wipe dalvik cache” and confirm action.

Step #5: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.

Step #6: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” or select “install” for TWRP and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.

Step #7: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your new Nexus 7.
