How to install ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) on Galaxy S Plus
If you want to upgrade your Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001 to a newer version of Android via a custom ROM or just want of install any other custom ROM or MOD to add some more tweaks on it, a custom recovery must be installed on your phone such as the ClockworkMod recovery. The ClockworkMod recovery doesn’t only allow you to install custom ROMs and MODs but also allow you to take the backup of your device even you wipe your device data if you need.
Read on how to install ClockworkMod recovery for Samsung Galaxy S Plus i9001, make sure you’re using Windows computer and phone drivers should be installed on it, you can use Samsung KIES to install them but during installation it should not be running. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions
Step #1: Download three following files to your PC:
- ClockworkMod Recovery (recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5)
- Odin v4.43 (Odin v4.43.exe)
- AriesVE OPS file (AriesVE.ops)
Step #2: Turn off your Galaxy S Plus.
Step #3: Run the downloaded Odin v4.43 on your PC.
Step #4: Reboot phone into download mode by holding down volume down, home and power buttons.
Step #5: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will change its color and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #6: Click on PDA Button and locate recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5 and then click on OPS and locate AriesVE.ops, both files you downloaded in the first step (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #7: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again.
Step #8: Unplug phone from PC.
That’s it, the ClockworkMod recovery has now been installed on your Galaxy S Plus, if you faced any problem, do comment below!

I can’t click on the PDA button. The button is invalid. How?

i did exactly as above but it shows a error message saying invalid image type on pda and the odin just get stuck . i removed the battery as above and retried again but i just still gets stuck . As of now my phone wont even boot what shall i do so as to undo the effects by my attempt to root my device.

try latest version from XDA thread (link is given at the bottom of post…….
