How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery on Galaxy S3 LTE I9305

Not a while, the Samsung added another member to the Galaxy S3 family “LTE”, the new Galaxy S3 LTE variant features quad-core Exynos processor instead of the dual-core that we saw in US Galaxy S3 variant and it comes with the latest Android version 4.1.1 Jelly Bean with the TouchWiz”Nature UX”graphical user interface. But there’s no Android life without the customization and for installation of new MODs, tweaks and custom ROMs on your phone, you have to install a better custom recovery like ClockworkMod and TWRP.

The Android development community has successfully ported the ClockworkMod recovery to the new Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE, the ClockworkMod is a well-known custom recovery for Android devices out there for the installation of .zip files containing custom ROMs, MODs and other tweaks as well as backing up the phone’s firmware and wiping device when you need.

Read on how to install ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) on Galaxy S3 LTE GT-i9305, don’t apply on any other mode, you may check your Galaxy S3 model from Setting>About Phone. Before installation you should make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Hi Rehman~ I got similar issues with Ed. I tried the steps…ODIN doesnt detect my s3 lte, but it does detect if I start the download mode with usb connected, before opening the ODIN program. This way the ODIN program will detect and show added message. I start the process in ODIN, it shows passed! However I tried starting the recvoery mode, it is still the normal android recovery mode…not CWM. But it does show information on top that it had download 2 custom binaries and the official binary is still Samsung. Any idea what’s wrong? Thanks in Advance!

    Hi,

Ive tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy S3 i9305 but it hangs at the updating firmware part via Odin.

    Added!!
    Enter CS for MD5..
Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
    Please wait..
    I9305_CWM_Recovery.tar.md5 is valid.
    Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
    Leave CS..
    Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
    File analysis..
    SetupConnection..
    Initialzation..
    Get PIT for mapping..
    Firmware update start..
    recovery.img

Ive been waiting for an hour but nothing happens I have removed the battery for a few seconds and rebooted to download mode, completed all the suggested steps above but still does not work.

    Have i missed something here?

    Thanks.

    Same issue as Ben.

ODIN shows the program has uploaded (PASS) however, when I try to start the recovery mode it’s the Android system recovery page and not the CWM.

And I’m in Singapore too (though that may not be the issue!)

as i said, it’s has been tested, however not on all devices, you should visit the original thread of XDA, from there download the latest CWM version and install it. You can also try the current version here, developer said it’s fully working: http://goo.gl/HZFSA
