How To Install ClockworkMod Recovey for Motorola Razr i


Door of installation for Razr i users is open now because the ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) for Motorola RAZR i has been arrived, now they can easily install .zip files that contain custom ROMs, custom MODs, tweaks and more. CWM lets you to easily perform backups and wipe, thanks to senior XDA developer member turl1.

However CWM for Razr i is still under development, it may contains some bugs but things are working fine and it’s ready to use. So let’s read how to install CWM recovery for Motorola Droid RAZR i. The bootloader of your Motorola Razr i must be unlocked, check out this story to unlock it. Make sure you’re using Windows computer and Android ADB is installed on it, check out this guide to install it.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Fastboot Package (fastboot.zip) and ClockworkMod Recovery (recovery-razri-try8touch.img) for Razr i to your PC from XDA – link is at the bottom of post.

Step #2: Unzip the downloaded fastboot .zip file into C:\, you’ll get a fastboot folder having four files, then copy the downloaded .img file of recovery to fastboot folder too.

Step #3: Turn your Razr i off.

Step #4: Reboot your Razr i into fastboot mode, to do so reboot it by holding down volume down, volume up and power buttons to get it into bootloader mode, there select fastboot to enter in fastboot mode.

Step #5: Once you’re in fastboot mode, connect your phone to PC using USB cable.

Step #6: Open up command prompt that can be found from Start Menu>Programs>Accessories.

Step #7: Enter following command to enter in fastboot folder:

cd fastboot

Step #8: Enter following command to make sure your phone is connected to PC properly (it will show serial number of your phone):

fastboot devices

Step #9: Enter following command to install recovery.img file:

fastboot flash recovery recovery-razri-try8touch.img

Step #10: Enter following command to reboot your phone into bootloader mode:

fastboot reboot-bootloader

Step #11: Select recovery option to enter in recovery mode.

That’s it, the ClockworkMod recovery is now installed on your Motorola Droid Razr i, enjoy!
