How to install Genome ROM for Droid DNA


A lot of Android users can’t stop on just their stock apps of their new smartphone and this is the reason whenever a new Android smartphone gets launched, Android development community immediately pay attention to bump up new tweaks and custom ROMs for the phone like for those of you who own a HTC Droid DNA and don’t want senseless UI, here can try Genome ROM developed by a senior XDA developer member MyComputerDoctor.

The Genome ROM offers a lot of to impress you like as I said it’s senseless custom ROM for your Droid DNA, it’s pre-rooted and deodexed stock ROM, it has less bloatware and features a stunning custom boot animation, Apex Launcher, HTC Flashlight, GApps, Stock Lock Screen, Google Now Fully Functional, Removed NFC Status Bar Notification Icon, Updated Stock Wallpaper and more.

The Genome ROM is quite stable and fast, so it’s worthy to install on your Droid DNA if you wanna experience something different.

Read on how to install Genome custom ROM for HTC Droid DNA, keep in mind that your Droid DNA must have an unlocked bootloader with TWRP custom recovery installed, check this guide to install TWRP and  this guide to unlock bootloader. Backup everything because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Genome ROM from here and place it to your smartphone.

Step #2: Turn your phone off and reboot into recovery mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons, it will take device into bootloader mode, there use volume keys to navigate and power key select, you need to enter in recovery mode.

Step #3: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state, to create backup select “Backup” and confirm action.

Step #4: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. In the end, select Back > Dalvik Cache and confirm action.

Step #5: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.

Step #6: Select “Install” and locate the downloaded ROM zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. The AROMA installer will also appear for installation customization.

Step #7: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot the phone.
