How to Install MIUI Jelly Bean ROM on Galaxy S3 I9300

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has seen almost all famous Jelly Bean custom ROMs such as CyanogenMod 10 and AOKP, another most popular MIUI custom ROM is now also available that also based on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, thanks to senior XDA developer member jimbo77.

MIUI Jelly Bean comes with a unique user interface, the ROM doesn’t only has Jelly Bean features but also some more useful features such as inbuilt theme manager that has many stunning themes, customizable notification menu, improved privacy protection options, stunning home launcher, stunning status bar and more, in a nutshell, the MIUI Jelly Bean will give a beautiful look to your Galaxy S3.

Please note that MIUI Jelly Bean ROM is still under development, which means, it may has some bugs, however it’s very fast and the developer will iron out bugs soon.

ClockworkMod recovery must be installed on your phone, be sure to follow our this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery 6.0. You should make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of MIUI Jelly Bean custom ROM from here [XDA LINK].

Step #2: Place downloaded .zip file to internal SD card of your Galaxy S3.

Step #3: Power off the device.

Step #4: Once the device is complete off, reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons.

Step #5: In recovery mode, first you should make nandroid backup of your existing ROM, because in case if anything doesn’t work you want from this MIUI Jelly Bean ROM, you’ll be able to go back to your current state, to do so, select “Backup and Restore”, then select “Backup”.

Step #6: Perform wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen, it will wipe everything in internal storage.

Step #7: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the MIUI Jelly Bean .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.

Step #8: Once the installation is done, simply go back to main menu and reboot the phone, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot phone.
