How To Install ParanoidAndroid ROM on new Nexus 7


The new Nexus 7 (2013) was recently revealed by Google and ASUS, by now it’s being modified by development community via various means, if you are looking for very interesting modified tools that can give you all UIs along with handy features, you should make way to Paranoid Android custom ROM.

The ParanoidAndroid ROM has become a tasty dish to experience all of three major UIs, smartphone, phablet and tablet, PA is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) custom ROM featuring a decent package of tweaks including Holo launcher that is inspired by Facebook Chat heads contains bubble showing you notifications of apps and system features.

All in all the Paranoid Android ROM is one of thing that you can come up with to experience a great Android world using one platform on your new Nexus 7 2 (2013) at this time, thanks to recognized XDA developer aaronpoweruser.

The below guide walks you through how to install ParanoidAndroid ROM for new Nexus 7. Make sure a custom recovery is installed on your Nexus 7, you can check this guide to install TWRP recovery. Do not forget to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use the carbon Android app to backup apps and data.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of ParanoidAndroid ROM for new Nexus 7 from here, the Google Apps package from here and fix from here.

Step #2: Transfer all downloaded zip files to your new Nexus 7.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up and power buttons until you see Google logo, do not leave volume up key until you enter in recovery mode.

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again, if you’re on TWRP recovery, click on “backup” and slide the blue button to confirm the action.

Step #6: In recovery mode, perform wipe, select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. At the end, select advanced, then select “wipe dalvik cache” and confirm action.

Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.

Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” or select “install” for TWRP and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.

Step #9: Once again select “install” and install Google Apps package as well as the fix.

Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your new Nexus 7.
