How To Install TWRP Recovery for HTC One


The TWRP custom recovery is one of best competitor for the ClockworkMod in the world even, no doubt the CWM is really best but TWRP features also features handy features that you can’t find under other custom recoveries as the TWRP can’ only be used just for the installation of zip files of custom ROMs or backups and wipe, but also customize the interface with more features such as built-in file manager app, theme manager, customize setting and more. It’s pretty fast and easy to use.

This guide shows you how to install TWRP recovery for HTC One (M7). You need a Windows PC with USB phone drivers installed, you can use HTC Sync to do so. The bootloader of your HTC One must be unlocked, be sure to check our this guide to unlock the bootloader of HTC One.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Fastboot package to your PC.

Step #2: Unzip the downloaded fastboot.zip file into C drive.

Step #3: Download the HTC One TWRP recovery from here or here.

Step #4: Copy the downloaded .img file to fastboot folder that you have unzipped in C drive earlier.

Step #5: Turn off your HTC One.

Step #6: Reboot your HTC One in fastboot mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons until you enter in bootloader mode, in bootloader menus use volume keys to highlight and power button to select the fastboot mode.

Step #7: Once you’re in fastboot mode, plug phone to PC using a USB cable.

Step #8: Open up command prompt, you can get it under start menu>programs>accessories.

Step #9: Issue the following command on command prompt, it will take you to fastboot folder:

C:\fastboot

Step #10: Issue another following command, it will shows you the serial number of your HTC One, if it doesn’t show that, your phone is not connected with PC properly, ensure that phone drivers are installed on PC properly:

fastboot devices

Step #11: Enter another following command to install recovery now (replace the “name” with file name you downloaded in step 3:

fastboot flash recovery “name”.img

Step #12: Once the installation is done, enter following command to reboot phone;

fastboot reboot

Step #13: Unplug phone from PC.

Great job! The TWRP recovery is now installed on your HTC One. To experience the TWRP recovery, turn off phone, then reboot it by holding down volume down and power buttons to enter in bootloader mode, there use volume keys to highlight and power button to select the recovery option.
