The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has just received the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update in India and France that brought a lot of new features and those of you have installed the update on your Note 2 and now looking for a root to get full control over your smartphone, here’s CF-Root tool for you.
CF-Auto-Root tool is developed by a senior XDA developer member Chainfire that allows you root in recovery mode, it install ClockworkMod recovery first, then root phone in recovery mode and then restore the stock recovery back. Keep in mind that it also increase the flash counter of your device but you can reset with Chainfire’s Triangle Away app allows you to reset the flash counter of your device.
This guide shows you how to root Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.1.2 firmware. Use a Windows PC with drivers installed, you can use KIES to install drivers but before rooting disable it. make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #1: Download the CF-Auto-Root tool for Galaxy Note 2 N7100 from here.
Step #2: Unzip the downloaded CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip file into a folder and run Odin3-v1.85.exe.
Step #3: Turn off your device and reboot it into download mode by holding down volume down, home and power buttons, when a warning screen appear, press volume up button to enter in download mode.
Step #4: Plug the device to PC and Odin will detect it, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #5: Click on PDA Button and locate CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5 from the folder where you’ve unzipped above files in the step 2. (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #6: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again) your phone will reboot into recovery mode, there it will root the tablet automatically and then reboot phone again.
Step #7: Unplug the device from PC.
That’s it, you’re done, your Galaxy Note 2 running Android 4.1.2 is rooted now, download and install the Triangle Away to reset the flash counter. If you experience any error, do comment.
