How To Root Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 W-Fi With CF-Root Tool
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is one of impressive tablet that you can come up with, it recently received the OTA update that brings a lot of new features but if you also love to use some more tweaks for extra-appealing, you need to root the device, rooting makes you able to obtain full control over your Android device, you’ll be able to install any non-Google Play app on the device.
The below guide will walk you through how to root the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5110 using the CF-Auto-Root tool, thanks to senior XDA developer member Chainfire for this tool. Make sure USB drivers are installed on your PC, you can use Samsung KIES to install drivers but during rooting it must be disabled. Step #1: Download the Rooting Package (CF-Auto-Root-espresso10wifi-espresso10wifixx-gtp5110.zip) to your PC.
Step #2: Unzip the downloaded rooting package zip file into a folder.
Step #3: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped the above file and run Odin3-v1.85.exe file.
Step #4: Reboot the device into download mode by holding down power and volume up (right button) buttons until a yellow triangle appear on screen, then press volume down (left button) button to enter into download mode.
Step #5: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #6: Click on PDA Button and locate CF-Auto-Root-espresso10wifi-espresso10wifixx-gtp5110.tar.md5 from the folder where you’ve unzipped above file in the step 2. (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition is unchecked).
Step #7: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, your device will reboot itself and you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again) your phone will reboot into recovery mode, there it will root the tablet automatically and then reboot phone again.
Step #8: Unplug your tablet from the PC.
