How To Root Nexus 4 on Mac – Guide
While root has already been achieved on Nexus 4 but it works on just Windows. However it was bit tricky and now you can easily root your Nexus 4 on Mac with Superboot. The founder of Modaco paulobrien released the Superboot tool, this tool temporarily boot your Nexus 4 into a custom kernel, then root the phone on the first boot and restore the original kernel. Rooting will give you full control over your Nexus 4 but it also important to note that rooting will void the warranty of your Nexus 4.

Step #1: Download Superboot Rooting Package to your Mac.
Step #2: Unzip the downloaded rooting package into a directory.
Step #3: Turn off your Nexus 4 and reboot into fastboot mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume down, volume up and power buttons.
Step #4: Plug your Nexus 10 to computer.
Step #5: Open a terminal window to the directory where you’ve unzipped above rooting package.
Step #6: Now simply type ‘chmod +x superboot-mac.sh’ followed by ‘./superboot-mac.sh’.
