How To Root Verizon Galaxy Note 2 – Guide
Root access on the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 has been achieved, the door for customization of system files is open now. Rooting lets you to explore all aspects of your Android smartphone, it enables you to install any Android app from any app store.
It’s pretty easy to root Verizon Galaxy Note 2, all you need is Odin-flashable file, simply install it on your phone and you’re rooted, it has been tested. This guide shows you how to Root Verizon Galaxy Note 2 using Odin.
You need a Windows PC with device drivers installed. Be sure to back up everything because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #2: Unzip the downloaded root66_VZW_stock_system.7z to get .tar file, don’t care about md5 extension.
Step #3: Download Odin3_v3.07 to your PC and unzip it into a folder.
Step #4: Open the folder where you’ve unzipped above file and run Odin3 v3.07.exe.
Step #5: Turn the device off.
Step #6: Reboot the device into download mode, to do so reboot device by holding down volume down, home and power buttons until a yellow triangle appear, then press the volume up button to enter in download mode.
Step #7: Once you’re in download mode plug the device to PC using USB cable. Odin will detect the device, ID:COM will turn yellow and a message saying ADDED will appear. (Note: If Odin doesn’t detect the device, make sure that USB drivers are properly installed on your computer).
Step #8: Click on PDA Button and locate rooted system.img from the folder where you’ve unzipped above files in the step 2. (Note: Don’t make any change, just make sure that re-partition and auto-reboot are unchecked).
Step #9: Click on Start button to start installation, once the installation done, you’ll see message saying PASS (Note: If Odin refuse to install the update and show message FAIL, or get stuck, close the Odin and unplug device, then pull out battery from the device for a few seconds. Then put the battery back to the device and reboot into download mode. Then install the firmware again.
Step #10: Remove battery from the device.
Step #11: Reinstall battery to device.
Step #12: Reboot device by holding down volume up, home and power buttons until you see a green android. You should boot into ASR(Android Stock Recovery)
Step #13: In recovery mode, select wipe cache and confirm the action, if you face any error, reboot again into ASR and wipe data.
Step #14: Reboot your Galaxy Note 2.
