How To S-off HTC Droid DNA – Guide

Step #1: Connect the phone to PC.
Step #3: Unzip the downloaded package into ADB folder.
Step #4: Open up command prompt and navigate to android-sdk/platform-tools/ directory, if you’re using Windows 7 or above, you can open command prompt directly from the folder, to do so open the folder from where you want to open command prompt, there press right click while holding down shift button on keyboard.
Step #5: Find model, enter following command to command prompt to do so:
adb shell getprop ro.aa.modelid
Step #6: Download the following zip file that is compatible with your model id and place it in working folder. Keep in mind that you no need to unzip it:
Step #7: Enter following command to reboot phone into bootloader mode:
adb reboot bootloader
Step #8: Enter following command and wait for black HTC screen:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Step #9: Once you see black HTC screen, issue another command:
fastboot flash zip <appropriate zip filename from above>
Step #10: Above command should show up following error “FAILED (remote: 92 supercid! please flush image again immediately)”, when you see the error quickly issue following command:
fastboot oem boot
It may show some error, you just need to wait for Android reboot, this time you should be booted into Android with no eMMC write protection of any kind active.
Step #11: Enter following commands one by one and wait for a few seconds:
adb push soffbin3 /data/local/tmp/
adb shell chmod 744 /data/local/tmp/soffbin3
adb shell su -c “/data/local/tmp/soffbin3″
Step #12: Enter following command to reboot phone into bootloader mode, there should see S-Off (at top of screen):
adb reboot bootloader
