How To Unlock HTC One X+ Bootloader – Guide


Unlocking bootloader is now pretty easy on HTC One X+, it will make you able to modify your smartphone like you’ll be able to install custom ROMs on the phone to enhance the performance and features, thanks to XDA developer member shubhamchamaria.

Read on how to unlock the bootloader of HTC One X+ but first do keep in mind that unlocking bootloader means the warranty of your phone is voided. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because unlocking bootloader wipe the device data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps. You need a Windows PC and USB drivers must be installed on your PC, you can use HTC Sync to install them.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the Fastboot Package to your PC.

Step #2: Unzip the downloaded fastboot.zip file into C:, you’ll get a fastboot folder containing four files.

Step #3: Head over to HTC Dev Center, there make a new ID and sign in with it.

Step #4: On the developer center, select “all other supported models”, then select “being unlock bootloader”, follow onscreen instructions until it take you to step 9.

Step #5: Turn your HTC One X+ off.

Step #6: Reboot your HTC One X+ into bootloader by holding down volume down.

Step #7: Plug your phone to PC using a USB cable.

Step #8: Open up the command prompt that you can find from Start menu>Programs>Accessories.

Step #9: Enter following commands on command prompt:

C:\fastboot
fastboot oem get_identifier_token

The above command will generate a long block of text, there right-click anywhere on the command prompt and select mark, then select copy to copy the text.

Step #10: Go to HTCDev and there paste the copied text to the text box under the section “My Device Identifier Token” in step 7 and submit it.

Step #11: Check your mail, you’ll receive an email from HTCDev having unlock_code bin file, download it to fastboot folder in C drive.

Step #12: On the command prompt, enter following command to unlock bootloader:

fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin

The above command will change the display to a disclaimer, select yes to confirm it. You can use volume keys to navigate and power key to select.

Step #13: Your bootloader is now unlocked.

You’re done, enjoy! Now you’re able to root the device and install custom recovery.
