How To Unroot/Restore to Back HTC Droid DNA


A lot of people love to have a rooted Android device because rooting gives you full control over the device, there are so many rooting merits but a demerit too, rooting voids the warranty of your smartphone and those of you have rooted their HTC Droid DNA and now want to visit the manufacturer shop to recovery warranty due to any reason, here you can do so or those of you have installed a custom ROM but forgot to take the backup and can’t  return to stock via recovery, here they can restore their HTC Droid DNA back to stock. thanks a senior XDA developer MyComputerDoctor.

Keep in mind that if you’ve unlocked the bootloader of your device, you need to relock it before you restore the stock firmware on the phone. This guide will take your Verizon Droid DNA to stock 1.15.605.4 RUU.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the stock 1.15.605.4 RUU for your Droid DNA from here.

Step #2: You need to relock the bootloader first if you’ve unlocked it and it’s possible with fastboot, so download fastboot package. If your Droid DNA bootloader is already locked, skip bootloader unlocking steps.

Step #3: Unzip the downloaded fastboot package zip file into C:\ drive.

Step #4: Turn off your phone.

Step #5: Reboot your Droid DNA by holding down volume down and power buttons, when phone turns on, select fastboot option with volume keys and press power button to enter in fastboot mode.

Step #6: Plug your phone to PC using the USB cable, PC may ask for drivers installation, let the installation finish. Use back USB port of your PC.

Step #7: Open up command prompt that can you find from Start menu>All Programs>Accessories. If you’re on Windows 8, right-click on the extreme bottom left corner of the taskbar, then selecting “Command Prompt (admin)”.

Step #8: Enter following command on the command prompt to enter in fastboot mode:

cd C:\Fastboot

Step #9: Enter following command carefully to relock the bootloader:

fastboot oem lock

Step #10: Once the bootloader is locked, disconnect phone from PC and reboot into bootloader mode repeating the step 5.

Step #11: Plug phone to PC using the USB cable.

Step #12: Open up the RUU restore package that you downloaded in first step, to run the file, right click on file and select “run as administrator”.

Step #13: Follow onscreen instructions to restore your phone.
