How To Update Ideos X5 U8800 With Aurora Ice Cream Sandwich
Good news for Ideos X5 U8800 users, now they can taste Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on their Ideos X5 U8800 with a ROM “Aurora”, it based on Qualrom Code Aurora for that you can expect some bugs, but it’s stable for daily use, see below guide to install but first take a look its some requirements, your device must be rooted with CWM recovery installed, below procedure will wipe device data so make a backup of your device data, its battery should be charged, and turn the USB Debugging on, by tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development. Then, make sure that USB debugging is checked.
DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.
Instructions To Install
Step #1: Download the aurora_1.10.zip on your computer.
Step #2: Connect your device to the computer using your USB Data Cable and copy the zip file you downloaded earlier to the root directory of your SD card.
Step #3: Now disconnect your phone to the computer and turn it off.
Step #4: Reboot into CWM recover mode, in the recovery, do a nandroid backup by selecting backup> backup and restore> then backup to start saving your old ROM. (This will make a full backup of your existing ROM, and save it to the SD card. You can restore from this backup, if something gets messed up with the installation.)
Step #5: Now do a full wipe by selecting Mount and Storage then wipe the following:
- Format System
- Format Data
- Format Cache
- Go back to main menu and select advance then wipe dalvik-cache.
Step #6: From the main menu select install zip from Sd card> choose zip from Sd card>then select the aurora_1.10.zip to start flashing the Aurora ICS ROM.
Step #7: Once the flashing done, go back to main menu and select Reboot system now. That’s it enjoy!
