Sprint is expected to release Ice Cream Sandwich update for Epic 4G Touch (Galaxy S2), however ACSyndicate developer Shabbypenguin has got  leaked copy of build FB09 ICS for the Epic 4G Touch, this firmware is already rooted, deodexed, and tweaked for that just interested users install it, here’s guide to install this ROM.

This official ROM compatible with Samsung Epic 4G Touch. Flashing the ROM to other handset models may cause damage. If you’re interested follow below guide to install it, but keep in mind that your device must be rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed its battery should be charged and please make a backup of your device data because the below procedure will wipe all data, disable all antivirus, firewall and Samsung Kies software,   and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development. Then, make sure that USB debugging is checked.

DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the FB09 update package from here to PC (Stock_Rooted_Deodexed_FB09-2.zip, 311 MB)

Step #2: Connect the device with PC using USB cable and copy the update package into root of the phone’s SD card.

Step #3: Disconnect the device from PC and turn it off.

Step #4: Reboot into recovery mode, to do so, just hold down the Volume Up key, Home key, and Power button simultaneously to restart your device into ClockworkMod Recovery.  Release the buttons when you see the Galaxy S2 logo.

Step #5: In this mode create a Nandroid backup of your current ROM.  Select “Backup and Restore,” then click on “Backup”.

Step #6: Select “Wipe data/factory reset” and confirm the action on the next screen.

Step #7: Select “Wipe Cache Partition” and confirm the action on the next screen.

Step #8: Go back to the main menu and select “Advanced”. From there, select “Wipe Dalvik Cache” and confirm the action on the next screen.

Step #9: Return to the main menu and select “Install zip from sdcard.”

Step #10: Select “Choose zip from sdcard” and choose Stock_Rooted_Deodexed_FB09-2.zip, confirm your action on the next screen to begin flashing the ROM on your phone.

Step #11: Go back to the main menu and select “Reboot System,” during the first boot, your phone will likely become unresponsive when it reaches the 4G screen. If so, just remove and reinsert the battery, then reboot into recovery mode.

Step #12: From the recovery menu, select “Wipe data/factory reset.”

Step #13: Reboot the phone and during the second reboot, the phone might again become unresponsive at the 4G screen.  Again, remove and reinsert the battery, then turn the phone on. That’s it you’ve installed.
