Ice Cream Sandwich ROM For Your HTC Desire [How-To]
Good news for the owners of HTC Desire owners, new Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for their HTC Desire, however some users want stable ICS builds, but it’s functional enough to be used daily. XDA member Sandvold are working on it, there’s few bugs, like camera not working and there are a few unusable USB Mass Storage functions (e.g., USB tethering).
If you’re interested follow below guide to install it, but keep in mind that your device must be rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed, its battery should be charged. Please make a backup of your device data because the below procedure will wipe all data, and turn the USB Debugging on, to do so just tap Menu> Settings> Application> Development. Then, make sure that USB debugging is checked. You’ll need ICS Beta 0.1.1 for HTC Desire.

Step #1: Download the ROM to PC, don’t unzip it.
Step #2: Now copy it into the root of your phone’s SD card.
Step #3: Reboot the device into recovery mode, do so by turning your HTC Desire off and holding down both the Volume Down button and the Power button. Navigate using the volume buttons and select choices by pressing the trackpad button.
Step #4: In recovery mode, make a Nandroid backup. Do not touch your device while it is backing up data.
Step #5: Select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset.”
Step #6: Select “Wipe Cache.”
Step #7: Select “Wipe Dalvik Cache.”
Step #8: Now navigate to “Install Zip from SDCard.”
Step #9: Choose “Select Zip from SDCard” and select the ZIP file you copied to your phone. The updating process will begin immediately.
Once flashing finished, just reboot your device. That’s it, your device now running Ice Cream Sandwich. You can visit the official thread of XDA here for queries.
