Install AffinitySERIES ROM on Nexus 7
The Asus Nexus 7 is first tablet that comes with latest Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean but if you love to tweak your Android device but don’t want to lose pure stock ROM too, you still need custom ROMs, here’s a new AffinitySERIES custom ROM that based on AOSP Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean but packed with more features than the stock to tweak your Nexus 7, thanks to senior XDA developer member purian23.
The ROM is extremely fast and responsive, it already includes the BusyBox and SuperSU app. The AffinitySERIES ROM gives an eye-catching look and feel to your Nexus 7, it contains stunning weather lock screen, theme chooser and ADA wallpapers. You’ll enjoy four way reboot menu, five way lockscreen targets and six battery style to select. The AffinitySERIES ROM features customizable status bar, customizable navigation bar, customizable power widgets, T9 dialer, Facebook contacts support and a lot of more.
However, the ROM is still being updated, so you can expect bugs from it but developer said that he’ll add more features soon in near future.
The below guide will walk you through how to install AffinitySERIES ROM on Nexus 7, make sure the bootloader of your Nexus 7 is unlocked and ClockworkMod recovery is installed on it, you can use this all-in-one toolkit to unlock bootloader and install the ClockworkMod recovery. Be sure to make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #1: Download the latest version of AffinitySERIES ROM from here [XDA Link] and Google Apps.
Step #2: Copy both downloaded .zip files to the root of your internal SD card of device.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume up, home and power buttons.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. Lastly from the main menu, select Advanced, then select Wipe Dalvik cache and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.
Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.
Step #9: Once again, repeat the previous step and install the Google Apps .zip file in the same manner.
Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
