Install Android 4.0.3 ICS On HTC Droid Incredible via CyanogenMod 9


HTC Droid Incredible is amazing Android device, and an unofficial CyanogenMod 9 ROM has released for HTC Droid Incredible that based on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, thanks to XDA developer drk.hd. it’s completely CyanogenMod 9 build and lots of features, but it’s still in development, so you can expect bugs like  camera preview and LED notifications is not working.

If you’re interested follow below guide, but keep in mind that your device must be rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed its battery should be charged, please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure will wipe all data, you can use this app to backup. Remember the below guide is just for HTC Droid Incredible, so don’t try it any other device.

DISCLAIMER: The below method is bit risky and we will not be held responsible if you lose data or your device gets damaged in the following of this guide so please proceed at your own risk.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the ROM from here and download Google apps to computer.

Step #2: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.

Step #3: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.

Step #4: Disconnect the device from PC.

Step #5: Turn the device off.

Step #6: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down the Volume Down and Power buttons until you see the bootloader screen.  From there, scroll to “RECOVERY” and press the Power button to select it.

Step #7: Make and Nandroid backup of your current ROM, select the Backup and Restore option and on the next screen, select Backup again. After that so back to the main recovery menu.

Step #8: Wipe data on your phone:

  • Select Wipe data/ factory reset, then select Yes on the screen that follows to confirm data wipe.
  • Select Mounts and storage, then select Format system now. Select Yes on the screen that follows to confirm formatting your phone’s memory.

Step #9: Go back to the main recovery menu and Select Install zip from sdcard.  Select Choose zip from sdcard.  Browse for the download CM9 ROM file and select it. Select Yes on the screen that follows to confirm the installation. After that install Google Apps in the same manner.

Step #10: Select Go back, and then select Reboot system now to reboot your phone. That’s it enjoy!
