Install Android 4.0.4 ICS Based AOKP on HTC Rezound

One of best custom ROM AOKP, has been arrived for your HTC Rezound that based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, it’s most customizable custom ROM available around the world, the ROM is packed with a lot of customizable features that allow you to customize different aspects of your device and also brings a fast performance, thanks to senior XDA developer member IAmTheOneTheyCallNeo.

The ROM is still being updated and currently contains some bugs like when you stream videos using Skype or Hangout (Gtalk), you may face force close errors.

It’s AOSP based ROM, which means, it will give you fully stock Android experience and it already has root access.

Read on how to install AOKP ROM on HTC Rezound, your device must have S-off with a custom recovery installed, you can use this all in one toolkit to install ClockworkMod recovery and obtain S-Off. Make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions

Step #1: Download the latest version of AOKP ROM from here [XDA Link] and Google Apps from here.

Step #2: Transfer both downloaded .zip files to the SD card of device.

Step #3: Turn the device off.

Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so, reboot phone by holding down volume down and power buttons, the phone will enter in bootloader mode, there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).

Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.

Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.

Step #7: From main menu, select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM .zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete, once it done, also install Google Apps .zip file in the same manner.

Step #8: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
