Finally the CyanogenMod 9 ROM has arrived for the Samsung Galaxy S Plus, the ROM is based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich build IMM76I. It’s an unofficial CyanogenMod 9 ROM by XDA developer “arco68”. The ROM brings a smooth and clean experience on your Galaxy S Plus GT-I9001.
The ROM is still in beta stage and has some bugs like Camera, FM radio and USB tethering are not working currently, but developer will fix these bugs soon as possible. Read on how to install CyanogenMod 9 ROM on Galaxy S Plus GT-I9001.
Before you start installation first be informed that your device must be rooted with ClockworkMod recovery installed, device battery should be charged and please make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #2: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.
Step #3: Transfer the downloaded file to SD card of device.
Step #4: Disconnect the device from PC.
Step #5: Turn the device off.
Step #6: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down the Volume Up button and Home keys until device enter in recovery mode.
Step #7: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #8: Perform full wipe, select Wipe data/factory reset and confirm on next screen, then you also need to select Wipe Cache partition for clearing all the data.
Step #9: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded CyanogenMod 9 file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.
Step #10: Now install the Google apps as you install the CM9 in last step.
Step #11: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
