Install Android 4.0.4 IMM761 Based RMS ROM on Samsung Vibrant
RMS is a new custom ROM for Samsung Vibrant, it based on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich build IMM76I, the ROM gives stock Android experience, it very stable ROM and has so many new features such as better notification bar toggles, Numeric battery indicator, Brightness control in status and notifications bars, better auto brightness, Video face effects working, app killing option with long press on back button, power button shooter in Camera app, time feature in camera app, T9 Dialer, “R” roaming indicator for national roaming is removed, rooted, Busybox and SuperSU.
The ROM is still in development stage and has bugs but as I said above that it’s stable for daily use so continue reading to install RMS ROM on Samsung vibrant. Keep in mind that as it’s Android Open Source Project based ROM so features like TouchWiz, camera, contacts etc are not included and if you use Swype, download the it from here. ClockworkMod recovery should be installed on your phone, its battery should be charged and make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #2: Plug the device to PC using USB cable.
Step #3: Transfer the downloaded file to internal SD card of device.
Step #4: Disconnect the device from PC.
Step #5: Turn the device off.
Step #6: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down Volume Up, Volume Down and Power buttons until the screen turns on.
Step #7: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #8: Perform full wipe, select wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on next screen.
Step #9: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.
Step #10: Repeat the step 9 for installation of Google apps.
Step #11: Return to main menu and select advanced, followed by Fix permissions.
Step #12: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.” (Note: The first boot may take time so wait). That’s it, you’re done. Enjoy!
