Google has released Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Nexus OTA update, currently GSM Galaxy Nexus update and Nexus 7 update is available. It you haven’t received the OTA Android 4.1 update on your Google Nexus 7 tablet due to any reason, you can install Android 4.1.1 update manually on your Nexus 7.

You can install update trough stock recovery or ClockworkMod recovery and do note that your Google tablet should be on a stock kernel/unmodified stock ROM, you can also update rooted device with an unlocked bootloader but ensure it’s unmodified, if you don’t want to lose root access after updating tablet, use the Voodo OTA app,

The update improves the system performance of your Nexus 7, it also adds Google Wallet that would offer easy payment through your tablet. So if you want enjoy new Jelly Bean Android features, follow below guide to install.

Instructions

Step #1: To update Nexus 7 to Android 4.1.1, first download the Android 4.1.1 update and copy the file to SD card of your tablet.

Step #2: Power the tablet off.

Step #3: Reboot tablet into recovery mode by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons until device turns on.

Step #4: If you’re using the CWM recovery, first select toggle signature verification, it will turn signature verification off, then install update, if you’re not using turn signature verification off, directly install update, to install update simple select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the signed-nakasi-JRO03C-from-JRN84D.zip downloaded file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation. Wait till installation complete.

Step #5: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now.”
