Install Android 4.1.2 JZO54K firmware for Galaxy Nexus i9250
Google has just released the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean build, firstly the Nexus 7 got the Android 4.1.2 JZO54K but now Android 4.1.2 JZO54K factory images are also available for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250 and now can be installed manually through a custom ROM.
Here’s guide to learn how to install Android-4.1.2_r1 JZO54K build on Galaxy Nexus i9250, it’s important to note that it’s official OTA update but a custom ROM that based on JZO54K Android 4.1.2 AOSP and is rooted too, thanks to senior XDA developer member kalo86.
Make sure the ClockworkMod recovery is installed on your Galaxy Nexus, check out our this guide to install ClockworkMod recovery 6.0. You need to make a make a backup of your device data such as SMS, internet setting, contacts music files etc because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Instructions
Step #1: Download the AOSP_4.1.2_JZO54K build ROM and Google Apps package.
Step #2: Transfer both .zip files to your Galaxy Nexus.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode, to do so reboot phone by holding down volume up, volume down and power buttons, first your phone will reboot into bootloader mode, there use volume keys to navigate and power key to select recovery option to enter in recovery mode.
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen then select wipe cache and confirm on the next screen. Lastly select Advanced then select Wipe Dalvik cache and confirm the action on the next screen.
Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.
Step #8: Select “Install” and locate the downloaded AOSP_JZO54K_v.1.1.zip file that you’ve transferred above and confirm installation.
Step #9: Once again select install and install Google Apps package (gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip) file in the same manner.
Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your Galaxy Nexus.
