Install Android 4.2-based AOKP for Nexus 4 E960

But over past few weeks many AOKP users decide to jump another Android custom ROM because the AOKP delay the Android 4.2-based release but if you own a Nexus 4, we’ve good news, at long last Team Kang has released Android 4.2.1-based AOKP build for Nexus 4 E960.
The Android 4.2 AOKP release improves experience with many handy features like unlimited lock screen widgets of any kind, menu arrow keys while typing, statusbar transparency, safe headset volume warning toggle and more. The latest release has fixed many previous bugs too.
This guide shows you how to install Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean based AOKP ROM for the Nexus 4 E960. Keep in mind that your tablet must have an unlocked bootloader with ClockworkMod recovery installed, check this guide to unlock bootloader, this guide to install ClockworkMod. Be sure to backup everything because the below procedure may wipe data, you can sync your contacts with Gmail account and for messages use SMS apps, lastly use file expert app to backup apps.

Step #2: Transfer both zip files to your Nexus 4.
Step #3: Turn the device off.
Step #4: Reboot the device into recovery mode by holding down volume down and power button, you’ll enter in bootloader mode, there select recovery option to enter in recovery mode (Note: In recovery mode use volume keys to navigate and power button to select).
Step #5: In recovery mode, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, it’s important because if anything not work out that you expect from this ROM, you’ll be able to easily revert back to your current state. To create backup select “Backup and Restore”, and then select “Backup” again.
Step #6: Perform full wipe, first select the wipe data/factory reset, and confirm on the next screen.
Step #7: Return to main menu by selecting “Go Back”.
Step #8: Select “Install Zip from SD Card” then “Choose Zip from SD Card” and locate the downloaded ROM zip file that you’ve transferred in above step and confirm installation.
Step #9: Repeat the previous step and install the Google Apps zip file in the same manner.
Step #10: Once the installation is completed, select “Go Back” after that select “Reboot System Now” to reboot your smartphone.
